LightEdge, the leader in compliant cloud and colocation for more than 25 years, has been shortlisted in two major categories in the Datacloud Global Awards: the Excellence in Regional Cloud Americas and the Education and Employment Project awards. The Datacloud awards recognize outstanding achievement in the data center, cloud, edge, and AI sectors and are chosen by a panel of independent, world-class industry leaders.
“We’re so proud to be recognized in these areas — cloud and education — where we’ve been investing heavily over the past year,” LightEdge CEO Jim Masterson said. “These recognitions validate we are delivering on our promises to our customers and successfully recruiting and developing the next generation of industry professionals.”
The Excellence in Regional Cloud Americas Award honors achievement by a leading provider in the highly competitive cloud services sector during the previous 18 months, while the Education and Employment Project Award recognizes the efforts by organizations to provide vocational training and outreach to encourage more interest in careers in the data center industry.
LightEdge’s recognition for the Datacloud awards comes shortly after being named as a finalist for the Cloud Awards’ Best Cloud Consultancy or MSP category. LightEdge has heavily invested in its cloud and managed services portfolios over the past year, including launching the fifth generation of its cloud portfolio and adding to the company’s managed services teams and offerings. In 2022, LightEdge ranked #7 on the Channel Futures MSP 501 list, proving the company’s position as one of the technology industry’s top-performing managed service providers (MSPs).
In educational outreach, LightEdge has two significant efforts under way in this area. In San Diego, the company partnered with the Sweetwater Union High School District to launch an internship program designed to help underserved students gain highly employable skills around cybersecurity, cloud, network engineering, data science, and more. Now in its second year, student interns receive hands-on training at LightEdge’s San Diego data center facility.
Along with the successful Sweetwater program, LightEdge also launched a partnership with Iowa State University’s Ivy Sales Forum in 2022, which aims to advance the growth and pool of professional sales-focused students from various backgrounds. The program is a collaboration between Iowa State University’s Ivy College of Business and corporate partners, and it strives to advance the growth and effectiveness of professional sales.
The winners will be announced at the Datacloud Global Awards ceremony on April 26 at the Fairmont Monte Carlo in Monaco.
