2022 – A year of growth, innovation, and continued success for LightEdge

As the year draws to a close, it’s bittersweet to say farewell to 2022 but we are excited for the new beginnings and opportunities that 2023 will bring. This year brought yet another burst of growth, innovation, and continued success for LightEdge. To celebrate the end of 2022, here are our greatest achievements and proudest moments from the past 12 months.

Growth

New Partnership – NetStandard

A leading provider in IT technology in the Midwest, NetStandard carefully selected LightEdge as their new partner in early 2022. They will continue to provide customers with the same excellent services and support, just within one of our LightEdge facilities in Kansas City.

As we continue to grow, we hope to gain more valuable partners within the technology industry such as NetStandard in 2023!

Acquired New Employees & Data Centers

In April, we acquired NFINIT, a San Diego-based full stack technology services provider. We welcomed 62 new employees and an additional 14 hires after the acquisition, with open arms.

The addition of data centers in San Diego and Phoenix provides LightEdge with a new presence in the Southwest region. This acquisition will provide us with the opportunity for continued expansion across North America.

New Faces to LightEdge Family

As they say, there’s strength in numbers! Over 2022, LightEdge has grown exponentially and has welcomed 76 new members to our family, bringing LightEdge’s total employee count to 285 across our different markets.

Our HR team has done an excellent job in recruiting, developing, and sustaining new and existing employees throughout the past year. As a company, we have one of the lowest turnover rates, especially among our sales department. LightEdge not only hires top tier talent but also takes pride in providing opportunities for advancement as professionals in the technology industry and development on a personal level, as well.

LightEdge has a promote-from-within policy, and our 41 internal promotions this year prove that we stay true to our word. When you take care of your employees, they in turn take care of you – and your customers.

DEI Employee-Led Committee

In 2022, LightEdge created our DEI Committee, which continues to grow with 26 total members. Their mission is to facilitate a workplace where everyone counts, different perspectives are welcome, and the culture reflects the customers and communities we serve.

The LightEdge DEI Program and Committee has brought renewed intention to our existing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in 2022, and we look forward to expanding their work in 2023.

Innovation

Security & Compliance

LightEdge renewed all compliance certifications this year to remain an industry leader in security and compliance.

Not only has LightEdge expanded coverage to acquired data centers, but we also added the ISO 22301 certification to our compliance repertoire. Obtaining the ISO 22301 certification sets us apart from other providers because it guarantees that we can be relied upon to restore operations amid any disruptions.

Additionally, LightEdge now has HITRUST-Compliant Cloud options in all data centers for the markets we serve. We are only 1 of 30 organizations globally that are part of the HITRUST Inheritance Program.

In 2023, we plan to continually audit and improve our security and compliance standards so that our customers can have peace of mind their data is protected.

Upgraded Cloud Platform

LightEdge has upgraded our entire cloud portfolio including the 5th generation of its private multi- and single-tenant cloud services. Along with upgrading our cloud platform, we have restructured our managed service offerings.

LightEdge’s continual investment in its heavy infrastructure is to better serve our customers with top-of-the-line solutions for an economical price. Over 25 years in business, our cloud suite has grown and evolved substantially, and we will continue to do so in 2023.

Success

TAI Prometheus Awards

Iowa is one of the most rapidly innovating states in the technology space. Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) connects leaders, develops talent, drives public policy, and advocates for diversity and inclusion in Iowa’s technology community. This year LightEdge was nominated for I.T. Service Provider of the Year and although we did not win, we look forward to fostering innovation across the state for years to come.

Ranked #7 on Channel Futures 2022 MSP 501

This past June, LightEdge was named #7 on the 2022 Channel Futures MSP 501 rankings. The 2022 Channel Futures MSP 501 winners are the highest-performing and most innovative IT providers in the industry today. It is both an honor and accomplishment for LightEdge to be globally ranked as one of the top 10 MSPs.

Top 20 MSP Channel Leader

LightEdge CEO Jim Masterson has been named among 20 honorees on the inaugural 2022 Channel Futures Channel Leaders list. This award recognizes the most future-minded, influential, and impactful MSP Channel Leaders. Jim has been with LightEdge since its early days in 2004 and we are so lucky to have him leading the way!

LightEdge Culture Resurge

March Madness

With some of LightEdge’s core values revolving around competition and teamwork, many of our team members are avid sports lovers. The Des Moines office took the afternoon to watch some of the local basketball teams. This fun, team-building event gave LightEdge employees the chance to show off their school colors and pride, while competing for bragging rights!

Earth Day

LightEdge partnered with Synetic Technologies to find eco-friendly alternatives for disposal of IT assets. Together, we diverted over 6,800 lbs. of e-waste, reduced 9,596 lbs. of GHG emissions, saved 274,104 lbs. of KWH electricity, and diverted 198 lbs. of toxic metals.

Chili Cookoff Comeback

For the first time since 2019, LightEdge eagerly welcomed back our annual chili cook off! The decade-long tradition gives employees a chance to gather and celebrate Thanksgiving.

Over the years, it has transformed into a full-blown potluck with a variety of prizes across chilis, sides, and dessert dishes. Each LightEdge location had a blast filling up on their colleague’s favorite recipes!

Holiday Party

Our team get-togethers continued through the holiday season! LightEdge teams across the country gathered to enjoy the food, drink, and company of our fellow colleagues as we close out 2022. We look forward to all the adventures to come in the new year!

2023 – We are ready for you

We thank you for being a part of LightEdge’s journey. Celebrating our shared achievements is always a pleasure. 2022 proved to be one of our most exciting and successful years yet and we cannot wait to see what 2023 will bring. Like most luxurious things in life, LightEdge seems to get better with age.
