Data Center operator welcomes first Northland CAPS student to SubTropolis Technology Center
KANSAS CITY, MO – February 3, 2015 – LightEdge Solutions is pleased to announce that their rapidly expanding team has settled into their new offices at Briarcliff in Kansas City, Missouri. The new year and the recent office move brings 23 new team members to the state of Missouri, satisfying LightEdge’s commitment to the Missouri Department of Economic Development to create 21 Missouri jobs. In just over a year from the announcement that LightEdge would invest up to $58 million in a data center inside SubTropolis Technology Center, LightEdge not only opened the facility in April, but also expanded their local Kansas City team by 40%. Continued growth in high paying technology jobs is anticipated into 2015.
In addition, LightEdge is excited to announce that they have kicked off their first official project with the Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) beginning in the January semester. A student from the program will work with a variety of departments at LightEdge to help develop an enhanced reporting tool and dashboard for capacity planning to identify trends for future growth. The student will work with Engineers, Product Development and other LightEdge teams out of the SubTropolis Technology Center location. The company is thrilled to be one of the partners for the Northland CAPS program. “We recognize that the skills we look for – and the industry as a whole requires – are something that should be developed and nurtured early in order to help create the talent that is needed down the road. This project is a great opportunity for our student, and our team, to gain fresh ideas, as well as create a valuable tool that will have a bottom line impact on the company,” said Chief Executive Officer, Jim Masterson.
