MidAmerican powers our Des Moines data centers with 7,300 MW of wind energy and 141 MW from a new solar array.

Data center cooling requires a lot of water, so we are always exploring innovative ways to reduce water usage.

Our Kansas and Missouri underground data centers use geothermal cooling, saving thousands of gallons of water by avoiding the use of cooling towers.
We maintain a continuous focus on reducing water use and replenishing water supplies.

We continuously strive to advance waste reduction efforts across all offices and data centers.

We recycle all materials leaving our facilities, from paper to electronics.
To cut single-use plastics, we’ve installed water filtration systems at every location.
We work with Synetic and Circular Computing to recycle, refurbish, and repurpose equipment.
